Doosan Portable Power Introduces Industry's First Tier 4 Final Air Compressors
Doosan Portable Power has introduced the industry’s first Tier 4 Final air compressors in the form of its most widely used models — the P185 and C185. With 100 psi at 185 cfm, the P185 and C185 meet the needs of a variety of applications, from powering handheld air tools, to sandblasting, sprinkler and irrigation line blow-out, cable laying and pipeline testing. "The P185 and C185 are now Tier 4 Final-compliant products meeting government regulations on emissions controls," says Juan Rubio, assistant marketing manager, air compressors at Doosan Portable Power. "We continue to remain an industry leader throughout these Tier changes — currently offering the most complete Tier 4-interim lineup of air compressors in the industry — because we're using the right emission technologies to meet government regulation, while adding customer value in enhanced product features."
After extensive testing and review, Doosan Portable Power selected a 49 horsepower Deutz D2.9 L4 electronic engine with DOC-only after-treatment to power the C185 and P185. With the new engine at the helm, the P185 and C185 deliver nine and seven hours’ runtime at 100 percent load respectively.
A new control panel equipped with an LED backlit display allows operators to easily view multiple machine parameters, including ambient temperature, engine oil pressure, percent engine load and airend temperature. The panel includes a user-friendly push-button start, and simple switch functions for stop and service air, helping users operate the machine as efficiently as possible, and providing time to focus on other jobsite needs.
With more available options than any model in the industry, the P185 can be customized to best meet any jobsite need. Durability is offered via the models’ galvanneal steel enclosure which prevents rust and corrosion, a fold-up A-frame drawbar with heavy-duty chains and hooks for easy vehicle attachment and towing stability, and heavy-duty running gear that lessens shock transfer to internal components in transport. The model also includes the industry’s largest tool box for quick, convenient storage.
The C185 combines advanced engineering with cost-effective features, making it a valuable addition to rental fleets. The compact footprint provides easy towing and maneuverability, and the single-piece canopy is constructed of virtually indestructible composite to ensure long unit life.
Component lifespan is prolonged on the P185 and C185 with simple serviceability, made easy by conveniently located components, the industry’s largest service access, and the units’ cool-box design which helps keep internal temperatures low.
Operator safety is enhanced on the models with curbside controls and service valves that keep users safe from the hazards of traffic on highway jobs, starter protection which prevents the starter from engaging while running, and auto shutdowns which enact in the instance of high discharge, high engine temperatures or low engine oil pressure.
The performance of the P185 and C185 is bolstered by multiple warranties, including a 1-year/2,000-hour bumper-to-bumper warranty; a 2-year/4,000-hour airend warranty, and a 5-year/10,000-hour Doosan extended warranty.
