VICTORY ALERT: SB 1387 Fails to Pass!
SB 1387 (de Leon), a bill that would have added three additional state-appointed seats to the South Coast Air Quality Management District Board, failed to pass out of the Assembly yesterday and is dead! BizFed, a massive, diverse grassroots alliance in Los Angeles County that unites and amplifies the voice of business, was part of the massive statewide coalition that advocated tirelessly against this bill. The coalition consisted of more than 100 organizations, including the Construction Industry Air Quality Coalition (CIAQC), and more than a third of these organizations were BizFed members! Thank you to all who helped on this issue, your efforts truly made a difference! Please call and thank these LA County Assembly Members who voted against the bill or abstained: Ian Calderon, Ling-Ling Chang, Matt Dababneh, Mike Gipson, David Hadley, Roger Hernandez, Chris Holden, Tom Lackey, Patrick O’Donnell, Freddie Rodriguez, and Scott Wilk.

CIAQC was created to obtain and provide information to its members concerning environmental regulatory issues affecting the construction industry. We assist the construction industry and regulatory agencies in the development of environmental regulatory strategies that will balance the goals of a healthy environment and a healthy local economy with the least adverse impact on the construction industry.
