Scaffold & Access Magazine Bestowed Award of Distinction in 2012 Annual Communicator Awards!

The winners of The 2012 Communicator Awards were announced by the International Academy of the Visual Arts On April 30. With thousands of entries received from across the U.S. and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals. Scaffold & Access magazine won for its October 2011 issue, with the aesthetically striking gatefold that announced the formal name change of the association from the SIA to the SAIA.

Of note, this international competition differs from many other design awards for its scoring process. Each piece is scored by the judges individually. Entries are scored on a 100 point scale by the judges. Excellence winners receive a score of 90 or above and Distinction winners receive a score of 70 to 89. If nothing is the category receives a score above 70, no one wins in that category—making this a big win for SA magazine, and the SAIA!

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 550 member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
